About Me

Simon grew up doing science experiments at home – in the kitchen and in the back yard. He followed this interest through school and then on to university.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Adelaide, for which he received a University Medal and the Honours Alumni University Medal. He studied Chemistry and Applied Mathematics.

After university, he worked for the Department of Industry and Science, and currently works for the Department of Education.

In 2019 he started Silly Science with Simon - a fun YouTube channel with over 70 science experiments for kids to try at home. His channel has over 3,600 subscribers and more than 500,000 views.

He lives in Adelaide, Australia, with his wife Bek (who has promised to feature in a video when he reaches 10,000 subscribers!)
